Why Choose Hospice

Perhaps you or a loved one received news that you/they have an incurable illness. You have options. Some may choose to try anything and everything possible to gain more time. Many others will choose quality of life over quantity. Hospice is here for those wanting to spend their final months/days as comfortable as possible.

Our Mission

Hospice of Central New York & of the Finger Lakes, along with our team of professionals, are focused on making this challenging time the best it can be for you. It is the mission of our teams of doctors, nurses, social workers, grief counselors, chaplains and family caregivers to deliver comprehensive comfort care to patients and families. For over 30 years Hospice has served, treated and cared for thousands of patients and families. We are proud of our teams of dedicated individuals who provide the best end-of-life care to those facing a life-limiting illness.

Accessible Care

Hospice is available sooner than you think. Many come to us too late and miss out on months of support. Our services can be provided at your home, Francis House, or Matthew House. Hospice services are typically covered by Medicare and private insurance, however no one is turned away for inability to pay. The Hospice Foundation is responsible for raising funds to fill the gap between reimbursement and the actual cost of providing care, in addition to those unable to pay. Medications and equipment, like hospital beds and commodes, are provided and paid for by Hospice. We provide more than just nursing care. Each patient has support from our doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteer family caregivers: an entire team of health care professionals, as needed.

We serve Cayuga, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties. To find out how we may be able to help you and your family call us today at (315) 634-1100, to find out more information and get your questions answered. It’s never too soon to call!
