Hospice is about Living

Hospice is not about dying. It’s about living

Yes, we call it end-of-life care, and the regulations state that a doctor must certify that a patient has a life expectancy of six months or less. It is also true that our staff are often praised for the comfort and care that they provide at the bedside in the final moments of life, but there is so much more to hospice care.

Terminal illness presents many challenges for families – an array of physical symptoms, emotions for the patient and the family, and limited time to realize a dream or solve unresolved relationship issues to name a few.

Hospice of Central New York is an expert at assisting patients and families with all of these issues that are a part of living. Isn’t that what you would want most if your time here on earth was limited… care from people who have the knowledge, skills, and compassion to help you make the remaining months the best that they can be?

You can make a gift today that will help Hospice of Central New York assist families in overcoming the obstacles of life-limiting illness and patients to spend their final months living.

We will serve over 1,200 patients in 2019 and provide over 50,000 days of patient care. Your help is needed for funding the vital services that we will provide.

On behalf of the patients and families we serve, thank you for being a part of care that is about living life until the very last moment.
