Volunteer of the Year!

The Onondaga County Office for the Aging held a special luncheon on May 16th to honor all of the senior citizen volunteers at Drumlins.

The Onondaga County Office for the Aging’s 2019 Senior Citizen of the Year is Ann Hoadley. The retired nurse from Liverpool became a member here at Hospice of Central New York and Hospice of the Finger Lakes following her husband’s illness and death.

Ann’s take charge attitude, attention to detail and willingness to help with any task has made her an invaluable asset to the Hospice staff. When given a task to complete, you know it’ll be done perfectly and triple checked for accuracy by Ann. She has logged in over 2000 hours here at Hospice. But why volunteer for just one organization? Hoadley has put over one 10,000 hours at Beaver Lake Nature Center. She manages the gift shop coordinating many of the fundraising events including a pancake breakfast and sat on their board as a volunteer. Along with that she also volunteered for the Rescue Mission helping with holiday meals. If that wasn’t enough, Ann has well over 1000 hours of volunteer service to WCNY-TV.

We are very lucky at Hospice to have someone of this caliber and dedication to a life spent serving others in our community. We are so proud to work with her and know her personally. We cannot think of anyone more worthy of receiving this wonderful award. Congratulations Ann Hoadley!
