Hospice of Central New York, along with other national, state and community organizations, is continuing our efforts on on promoting the importance of advance healthcare decision-making. This national effort has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). It was Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy, in 1789 said, “nothing is certain but death and taxes.” To honor that, the founders of NHDD thought it appropriate to remind people about end-of-life planning.
As a participating organization, Hospice of CNY will provide information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers. Here are the resources people can download that will help them get started on having your Advance Directives in place:
