 New Chief Executive Officer

The Hospice of Central New York Board of Directors has appointed Cynthia Chandler as the new Chief Executive Officer.  Chandler has been Interim CEO of Hospice for the past year.  During that time, the Board of Directors has been impressed with Chandler’s instrumental stewardship of the agency to its present position.  The number of patients served by Hospice has increased.  Financially, Hospice is as strong as it has been in recent memory.  From the regulatory standpoint, Chandler has successfully navigated the turbulent waters of the new Medicare Conditions of Participation and she has developed a strong and cordial working relationship with the New York State Department of Health.

As the process of selecting a new CEO entered the later part of 2009, the search committee was considering the attributes that a new CEO must have to lead the agency. The not-so-rhetorical question was raised as to how they would evaluate Chandler’s performance to date as interim CEO.  The answer was resoundingly positive.  The Board of Directors could not have asked for anything more from a new CEO and they were delighted with her performance.

The Board looks forward to working with Chandler as she leads the agency into the future.  Prior to her appointment as interim CEO, Chandler served Hospice since 2007 as its Chief Clinical Officer. She currently lives in East Syracuse, New York.
