Celebrity Bartending supports Hospice of CNY

Hospice of Central New York would like to thank Kelly Hamlin, her sons Sean and Casey and the “Cousins that Care” for their continued support!  When Kelly has the opportunity to choose a charity, she chooses Hospice of Central New York.  In August of this year, Kelly and her friend Julie Benzo-Barber were celebrity bartenders at the Woods Inn in Inlet, and they chose Hospice’s Camp Healing Hearts as the proud recipient of their generous tips.  When asked why she chose Hospice, Kelly said, “Not only did we lose my husband to cancer, but his sister two years before him, and his mother a year after.  Hospice has helped us all.

In her own words:  “There is one agency that people sometimes forget about, and that is Hospice.  It is important to help those who are dealing with the end-stage illness and the grief of knowing they are losing the battle.  Hospice helps us to deal with the loss and helps us learn to begin a new life without those we’ve lost.  To me, Hospice is one of the most important, wonderful, fabulous, caring and compassionate agencies that exists.  Not just for the medical part of it, but for the way they truly cared.  I will forever be grateful to Hospice of CNY for all they have done and given to us.  And to everyone who is fighting, please know, those who have lost and those who are surviving the loss, I may not know you, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.” ~ Excerpts from Survivors of a Different Sort, by Kelly Hamlin.  (Click Here for the full article.)
