Advance Care Planning

Hospice of Central New York would like to thank The Proxy Project of CNY that offered two  Advance Care Planning Workshops and the Buranich Funeral Home that offered a three-part workshop that was very well attended. In that workshop, representatives from Hospice of CNY, Hancock Estabrook, LLP and the Buranich Funeral home helped over 100 people with their questions and concerns. The events were all part of National Health Care Decisions Day(NHDD) Week which is held the week of April 16th. The NHDD project was designed to help people find a way to talk about their end-of-life wishes to family and friends. When surveyed 80% of Americans would like to die at home, only 20% actually do. Most of those were due to wishes that were never communicated to loved ones.
